Hello! It’s me. The aforementioned Chlo. In the age of AI, I find it increasingly important to connect with people and bring a human touch to marketing.
I will forever be anti-AI in anything creative, whether it’s creating a poster from scratch, using it for finalised graphics, or writing copy. Do not get me started on people who have used it to write books, as you’ll see the steam coming out of my ears from 5 miles away. For complex arithmetic and data compilation, it can be used well, but to use it as a replacement for creatives is a travesty.
Despite being strongly against it for use in creative processes, it is now a growing part of the digital landscape.

As of October 2026, Google Search actively uses AI Overviews, disrupting classic SEO, and encouraging businesses to up their AEO game in order to feature first on their AI Overview, as opposed to the traditional first search result.
Whilst I’m absolutely against it for the creative process, being aware of AI functions is now an integral part of how your business shows up online. It’s why I now offer AEO, in addition to SEO. The most important rule of thumb, however, is to remember that if your SEO is good, and you’ve routinely been on the first page of Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs), you most likely don’t need an emergency action plan, as that will carry over.
It doesn’t just take your SEO into account, however – AI trawls the web, selecting clear, concise answers to questions to help the querier, making it incredibly important to have a good blog or FAQ on your website, LinkedIn, and additional social channels.
Backlinking, reviews, testimonials – all of these play a part in helping you show up in AI recommendations, too.
According to a Which? December 2025 survey which canvassed 4,000 participants, 27% of consumers use AI to help them find services and products. It’s a safe prediction that this percentage will only increase with time. Your business has the chance to show up in people’s correspondence with AI’s like ChatGPT or Gemini as they ask for relevant services or products.
Upgrading your AEO strategy is now essential for businesses who wish to appear in AI results, and not miss out on these consumers.
If you’re wondering if your AEO is up to scratch, I offer a free 15-minute consultation to talk about your business and how I think Chlo and Co Marketing could help further grow your success.
